A Beautiful story
Summer Of 1965
The Beginning
While I was walking in Sims Park, I saw you playing in the basketball courts with your siblings. You came out and met me, we walked and talked. You were so handsome and the color of your beautiful skin drew me in. We met every week for a few months and your kisses were so sweet, I fell in love with you 💕
1967
The War
We saw each other off and on from when we met. Promises made, love growing. Then came the Vietnam War! I was in High School. You promised to come back to me, and you eventually did. PTL! You came back broken, but you came back and God started a work in us.
1969-1970
Graduation, Marriage, and Children
Needless to say 1970 was a crazy start. Jim came home from the Army, I graduated, got pregnant, got married, had our baby early, and our rollercoaster began.
December 1970
The Family Tree Begins
We didn't know it then, but our family started in May of 1970, Jim had a son he didn't know about. So our first child was born May 10th 1970, Rick. Our second, Michelle, came 2 months early on Dec 20th 1970. Our third, Tanya, born Aug 6th 1972. There was a long stretch between our 4th, James IV, came in 1980, and the baby, Jolene, April 30th 1981. We now have 26 grandchildren, 22 1/2 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter.
This Is Now
The Rollercoaster
I wish I could say that things were easy or a piece of cake. Not!! We worked through PTSD, addictions, motorcycle gangs, broken hearts and broken promises. But God!!! Jesus changes everything!! We chose love, forgiveness, and commitment. Everyday, we choose to follow Jesus, to forgive, start over and choose each other, again and again and again. This life isn’t easy, but it's worth it, it has always been worth it!! And today, and tomorrow, and on our Anniversary, and forever, James Edmond McLean III, I choose you!! Love Louwanna ❤️
