My Ryan

[Verse 1]
Some roads don't start the way you plan
A simple message, a reaching hand
Then neon lights and coffee cups
A Waffle House where we sat up
A week went by, then barbecue smoke
I fell for every word you spoke

[Chorus]
We've weathered wind, we've weathered rain
Found grace enough to heal the pain
We learned to kneel, we learned to forgive
Leaning on Jesus while we live
You keep on trying to be better for us
And that's the man I'll always trust

[Verse 2]
You came with two little girls in tow
I got to watch those sweet hearts grow
Now they're married with babies of their own
And still their love feels just like home
Ryan, I see how hard you fight
To make the wrong things turn out right

[Chorus]
We've weathered wind, we've weathered rain
Found grace enough to heal the pain
We learned to kneel, we learned to forgive
Leaning on Jesus while we live
You keep on trying to be better for us
And that's the man I'll always trust

[Bridge]
Some nights I didn't know
How we'd find the strength to go
But faith held on when we could not
And grace gave back what we forgot

[Verse 3]
Eight years since that Facebook hello
Two years married, November's close
I'd choose that booth, that neon light
I'd choose these tough and tender nights
Ryan, I'd choose you all over again
My husband, my strength, my closest friend

[Chorus]
We've weathered wind, we've weathered rain
Found grace enough to heal the pain
We learned to kneel, we learned to forgive
Leaning on Jesus while we live
You keep on trying to be better for us
And that's the man I'll always trust

[Outro]
Keep on trying, I'll keep trying too
With Jesus holding me and you
