Trudy

[Verse 1]
Two young souls at a college hall,
Assigned one family, that was all.
But heaven had a plan in store,
A quiet knock on love's front door.
Fifty-four years since that day,
And still I'd choose you every way.

[Chorus]
Oh Trudy, your eyes so blue,
There's no one else I'd rather do
This life, this love, this faith with, dear,
Forever growing, year by year.
Through every joy and every fall,
You've been my greatest love of all.

[Verse 2]
On a mountain lift at Sundance high,
I hinted at a strange goodbye—
A funny name you'd someday wear,
And you just laughed, no worry there.
You gave up so much without a sigh,
Putting family first as years went by.

[Chorus]
Oh Trudy, your eyes so blue,
There's no one else I'd rather do
This life, this love, this faith with, dear,
Forever growing, year by year.
Through every joy and every fall,
You've been my greatest love of all.

[Bridge]
Five sons raised with tender hands,
A daughter faithful where she stands.
Grandmother, great one too,
God's own light shines out through you.

[Verse 3]
And when this earthly journey ends,
Our love won't stop, it just extends.
An endless morning waits for two,
And I will spend it all with you.
With grateful heart and steady hand,
Beside you, Trudy, I will stand.

[Chorus]
Oh Trudy, your eyes so blue,
There's no one else I'd rather do
This life, this love, this faith with, dear,
Forever growing, year by year.
Through every joy and every fall,
You've been my greatest love of all.

[Outro]
So here's to us, and all we've done,
Fifty-four years, and just begun.
