A message for you
Thank you, and A Blessing for You
It is true that I’ve always believed I had to pay back or earn first for someone to be so selfless as you all have beento me this year. I don’t feel like I deserve it and yet you still don’t walk away you’re still there. Somehow God knew I have needed you, each and everyone of you as my family. I truly believe that’s why God gave us friends and communities and neighbors and churches. God knew we couldn’t make it out here alone. I’m eternally grateful for every small and enormous act of kindness I’ve been shown in the past year and many I’m sure have been unseen and ones that I didn’t even know about. Just thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. And may God follow you with a trail of blessings all the days of your life.Love, Amy.

Nothing to Give
Read the lyrics
[Verse 1] There was a season darkness came, when I could barely speak my name. I thought that love was something earned, a debt I owed, a page I turned. But someone opened up the door, and asked for nothing, gave me more. [Chorus] You loved me when I'd nothing to give, you taught me grace is how to live. No price to pay, no line to prove, just open arms and honest love. Oh family, you carried me, right through the storm to set me free. [Verse 2] When every hour felt so long, you were the shelter, you were song. You gave because your hearts are kind, a gentle peace I couldn't find. And in your goodness I could see the way that God intends to be. [Chorus] You loved me when I'd nothing to give, you taught me grace is how to live. No price to pay, no line to prove, just open arms and honest love. Oh family, you carried me, right through the storm to set me free. [Bridge] Kenilworth Union Church, you are the answered prayer, the hope I found was there. Kenilworth Union Church, my heart, my home, my own. [Verse 3] I made it through the hardest year because your light kept drawing near. Now I can breathe, now I can stand, still holding tight to every hand. I'll spend my days to pass along the grace that turned my grief to song. [Chorus] You loved me when I'd nothing to give, you showed me how a heart can live. No price to pay, no line to prove, just open arms and honest love. Kenilworth Union Church, you see, you gave me back the best of me. [Outro] So thank you, family, thank you still, you loved me, and you always will.
“You loved me when I did nothing to give, you showed me how a heart can live.”
Kindness Is a Verb
Spring 2026
The support I was given, the inexplicable amount of kindness…..So I wrote a poem.

Kindness Is a Verb: I believe that kindness is a verb. Maybe grammatically you'll find it in the dictionary as a noun. I appreciated their kindness. A random act of kindness changed my day. But in my experience, kindness in action and deed and life choices makes kindness a verb. I've had nothing to offer people for weeks now. I've been so sick. There's been nothing for me to give to anyone. And yet people are reaching out and stepping up and volunteering to visit and assist just again and again. You think they grow tired of being kind. You think that perhaps they'd check it off their list after one or two acts of kindness. But that's why I believe kindness is a verb. Its an action verb. A verb that keeps going. A verb that sustains. A verb that lifts someone else up. Until they can walk and run and thrive again on their own. Kindness doesn't have an ending point. It stretches the gap between when someone needs and when they're at the point so overflowing with blessings, with recovery and good health, that they can give of themselves again. Yes, kindness is definitely a verb. Don't believe what your dictionary says. Kindness is energy. It's this lifting force carrying someone on a cloud. Gently with compassion, with empathy, with patience. Incredible patience. It's not seek congratulations or almost even thanks. It just continues as long as the need does. And then beyond. Kindness is a fuel by which love is transferred between human beings. And isn't that what we're called to do in any faith, in any culture when it comes down to it? Aren't we called to look after our neighbors? And not just our literal next door neighbors, but all our neighbors? Especially those who need and have nothing to give. That's the way the world should be. I'm so blessed to have experienced kindness as a verb in my life recently. It restores one's faith in humanity. Kindness is beautiful. And it is very contagious. But don't worry if you catch it. It's something that you want to catch. So that you can be then kindness to someone you find Someone who just needs.
