Ron

[Verse 1]
Thirty years, where did they go?
A crowded room, a neon glow,
Richard's Pub on a Friday night,
Two strangers laughing in the light.
We tried for love, it slipped away,
But something deeper chose to stay.

[Chorus]
Here's to you, my faithful friend,
The kind of bond that never ends,
Through the storms and through the rain,
You held me up through all the pain.
Happy birthday, I'm thankful too,
For every road I walked with you.

[Verse 2]
You made me laugh when I would cry,
Two marriages that said goodbye,
And still you stood right by my side,
No judgment there, just open eyes.
A craft beer raised, a favorite song,
Some ballgame on, you sang along.

[Chorus]
Here's to you, my faithful friend,
The kind of bond that never ends,
Through the storms and through the rain,
You held me up through all the pain.
Happy birthday, I'm thankful too,
For every road I walked with you.

[Bridge]
Oh Ron, you're the truest heart I know,
The one who never let me go.
The concerts, all the miles we drove,
You gave me comfort, gave me hope.

[Verse 3]
You mind my cats when I'm away,
Pebbles, Smokey, Pipsqueak stay
In hands as steady as they come,
The most reliable one, hands down.
So Ron, I couldn't live without
The love and strength you're made about.

[Chorus]
Here's to you, my faithful friend,
The kind of bond that never ends,
Through the storms and through the rain,
You held me up through all the pain.
Happy birthday, I'm thankful too,
For every road I walked with you.

[Outro]
So here's to you, dear Ron, tonight,
Thirty years of pure delight.
My best friend till the very end,
Happy birthday, faithful friend.
