Kelley

[Verse 1]
I whispered up a quiet prayer,
For a heart that seeks the light,
A man who'd love his God the most,
And hold me through the night.
Then I walked into that church,
And found you standing there.

[Chorus]
Oh Kelley, you're the answered prayer,
The morning after the storm,
Your blue eyes see right through my soul,
And keep me safe and warm.
Happy birthday, my love, my friend,
Grace brought us here to stay.

[Verse 2]
The second usher by the door,
You made a young girl laugh,
And joy came rushing like a stream,
Down every broken path.
We stumbled at the start, it's true,
But God kept holding on.

[Chorus]
Oh Kelley, you're the answered prayer,
The morning after the storm,
Your blue eyes see right through my soul,
And keep me safe and warm.
Happy birthday, my love, my friend,
Grace brought us here to stay.

[Bridge]
Each dawn you rise with open hands,
Your Bible and a prayer,
You lift my name up to the sky,
And I know God is there.

[Verse 3]
So here's to every winding mile,
The road that led me home,
To a godly, gentle, clever man,
Who never leaves me alone.
I thank the Lord for all we've walked,
And all the years to come.

[Chorus]
Oh Kelley, you're the answered prayer,
The morning after the storm,
Your blue eyes see right through my soul,
And keep me safe and warm.
Happy birthday, my love, my friend,
Grace brought us here to stay.

[Outro]
Hope and love and strength renew,
A new beginning shines,
Happy birthday, sweet Kelley,
Forever you are mine.
