Mike

[Verse 1]
Frost is clinging to the fence line
Sun's just breaking on the grain
Some men talk about their strength
Some just show it, day by day
Fourth generation on this ground
That red Case rolling through the rain

[Chorus]
He warms the car before I wake
Keeps the wood stove burning bright
Pumps the gas when it's cold outside
Holds this family through the night
That's my Mike, strong and steady
Quiet love that's always ready

[Verse 2]
Five kids grew up beneath his roof
And others needing a place to stay
When the money ran out, he just prayed
Trust the Lord will make a way
He didn't know how, but he believed
And God provided every day

[Chorus]
He warms the car before I wake
Keeps the wood stove burning bright
Pumps the gas when it's cold outside
Holds this family through the night
That's my Mike, strong and steady
Quiet love that's always ready

[Bridge]
He left the house of thirty years
To care for Mom when Daddy passed
It wasn't easy, leaving home
But he packed up and held me fast

[Verse 3]
Twenty-one years we've kept on choosing
Through the hard years and the good
Sneaking off for McDonald's breakfast
Mike and Pam, like we always would
Thirteen grandkids running wild
Growing tall where your love stood

[Chorus]
He warms the car before I wake
Keeps the wood stove burning bright
Pumps the gas when it's cold outside
Holds this family through the night
That's my Mike, strong and steady
Quiet love that's always ready

[Outro]
Thank you for the love you give
For every way you provide
Body, heart, and soul, my love
I'm forever by your side
