Mike Johnston

[Verse 1]
Some roads are steep before we're grown,
We walked ours young, and not alone,
When we were kids the storms rolled through,
And we lost more than children do.
But someone stood when life turned cold,
A steady hand, a heart of gold.

[Chorus]
Oh Mike, you carried me,
Through the dark and the debris,
You were courage when I had none,
The strength I leaned my whole life on.
Brother, you're the light I've known,
You never let me stand alone.

[Verse 2]
You built your dreams up from the ground,
With work and will you turned it 'round,
A company from sweat and grit,
And never once did you quit.
With Wendy's support you found your way,
Two hearts to face each brand new day.

[Chorus]
Oh Mike, you carried me,
Through the dark and the debris,
You were courage when I had none,
The strength I leaned my whole life on.
Brother, you're the light I've known,
You never let me stand alone.

[Bridge]
Through every hospital hall and fear,
You were the reason I'm still here,
You raised up Chris to walk your line,
A legacy of love through time.

[Verse 3]
We said goodbye to Ann too soon,
And felt that ache beneath the moon,
But Mike Johnston, you held us near,
You wiped away each falling tear.
So live a long and gentle life,
In peace and love with Wendy, your wife.

[Chorus]
Oh Mike, you carried me,
Through the dark and the debris,
You were courage when I had none,
The strength I leaned my whole life on.
Brother, you're the light I've known,
You never let me stand alone.

[Outro]
So here's my thanks, my whole heart true,
There's no me without you, Mike, without you.
