John

[Verse 1]
Some stories start with a prince so brave
A gentle heart and a hand that saves
In a youth group room with a Bible near
I was sixteen, you were nineteen that year
You rescued me with a kindness true
And made one team out of me and you

[Chorus]
Salt of the earth. Faithful and true. A man of his word.
That's who you are, John, the best man I know
Five decades later, you're still the one
We're a team, you and me, till our days are done

[Verse 2]
We walked through waiting, we cried and prayed
Met every heartbreak with quiet grace
Then came the call, a baby girl
Olivia, our whole wide world
Your blue eyes sparkle every time
You talk about that girl of mine

[Chorus]
Salt of the earth. Faithful and true. A man of his word.
That's who you are, John, the best man I know
Five decades later, you're still the one
We're a team, you and me, till our days are done

[Bridge]
Now a storm has come, the treatments too
But we've weathered more, we'll see it through
Hand in my hand, we'll pray and fight
As a couple, we will walk toward the light

[Verse 3]
Your cane keeps balance, my ears grow dim
But I still cook Polish, you still dig in
Three dogs, a cat, and your dad jokes too
Your laughter carries me right through
Built on prayer and work and trust
God is good, He's the ground beneath us

[Chorus]
Salt of the earth. Faithful and true. A man of his word.
That's who you are, John, you're still my guy
Five decades later, you're still the one
I'm still your gal till our days are done

[Outro]
We live each day to its fullest, me and you
God is good, John, He gave me you
