Kenneth Brooke Rexrode III

[Verse 1]
I was just a city girl
Never knew the open road
Then you pitched a tent and built a fire
And showed me how the wild things grow
Every broken road I wandered
God blessed it, led me home

[Chorus]
Happy birthday, Kenneth, pour that whiskey high
You're my rock, my best friend, that twinkle in your eye
Ten years younger, but you taught me what life's for
So turn that country up and spin me 'round the floor

[Verse 2]
On a mountain top in fallin' snow
You got down on bended knee
Fourteen years, you still make me blush
When you say you love me
You get this Capricorn crazy woman
Like nobody else could do

[Chorus]
Happy birthday, Kenneth, pour that whiskey high
You're my rock, my best friend, that twinkle in your eye
Ten years younger, but you taught me what life's for
So turn that country up and spin me 'round the floor

[Bridge]
You took my boys, not born your own
And raised 'em into men
An honorable heart, your family first
Through every thick and thin

[Verse 3]
Paddlin' that old canoe at dawn
Fishin' line out on the lake
Red F-150, Oreo ridin' shotgun
Rocco watchin' from heaven's gate
You cherish all the little things
And that hearty laugh you make

[Chorus]
Happy birthday, Kenneth, pour that whiskey high
You're my rock, my best friend, my courage and my pride
Funny, smart and steady, you show me what love's for
So turn that country up and spin me 'round the floor

[Outro]
Happy birthday, darlin'
My buns of steel, so kind
God blessed the road that brought you
Your hand still holdin' mine
