Kathleen’s Song

[Verse 1]
There's a light that walks through this old world,
Carrying more than words can hold,
Steady hands for the ones who need them,
A giving heart of purest gold.
From North County streets to a sacred call,
She built a haven, a home for all.

[Chorus]
Following a joyful God,
Every step where her feet have trod,
Faith and love in all she does,
Oh, we share a "love bug."
A gift from Heaven, a grace so true,
Kathleen, this song's for you.

[Verse 2]
Rockhurst days and a first slow dance,
"Hello" playing soft and low,
Two young hearts in Kansas City,
Never dreaming how far we'd go.
Three children raised in the arms of grace,
Now their little ones light up her face.

[Chorus]
Following a joyful God,
Every step where her feet have trod,
Faith and love in all she does,
Oh, we share a "love bug."
A gift from Heaven, a grace so true,
Kathleen, this song's for you.

[Bridge]
Magnolia, Henrietta,
George and Ruthie, gather near—
Every birth a holy moment,
God was whispering right here.
"May the God of hope fill you with joy,"
That's the psalm we hold so dear.

[Verse 3]
Early mornings with her Boot Camp girls,
A coach, a teacher, a caregiver's soul,
Patient, kind, and ever generous,
Loving the broken back to whole.
You've been my guide on this winding way,
My constant blessing every day.

[Chorus]
Following a joyful God,
Every step where her feet have trod,
Faith and love in all she does,
Oh, we share a "love bug."
A gift from Heaven, a grace so true,
Kathleen, this song's for you.

[Outro]
Steadfast, remarkable, and kind,
The truest treasure I could find.
Kathleen, my love, my song, my star—
Thank God for who you are.
