John Reasoner

[Verse 1]
Some roads run straight and some roads bend
Some hearts give up before the end
I learned to brace for slamming doors
And empty space on bedroom floors
But twenty-seven years ago
You took my hand and wouldn't go

[Chorus]
John Reasoner, you always stayed
Through every storm, through every gray
You make me crazy, make me mad
But you're the best love I've ever had
No one ever stayed like you
My whole life, no one stayed like you

[Verse 2]
We've had our share of broken nights
Of silent dinners, stubborn fights
Then came three years of empty space
Two separate lives, one missing face
But somehow love just held its ground
And when I turned, you were still around

[Chorus]
John Reasoner, you always stayed
Through every storm, through every gray
You make me crazy, make me mad
But you're the best love I've ever had
No one ever stayed like you
My whole life, no one stayed like you

[Bridge]
We both got lost along the way
But you kept faith through every day
Forgiveness opened up the door
And now I love you even more

[Verse 3]
So here's to starting over now
Not perfect, but we've learned somehow
I love you more with every year
More every time I find you here
Your hand in mine, no more alone
Two weathered hearts, one steady home

[Chorus]
John Reasoner, you always stayed
Through every storm, through every gray
You make me crazy, make me mad
But you're the best love I've ever had
No one ever stayed like you
My whole life, no one stayed like you

[Outro]
Twenty-seven years and still we're new
No one ever stayed like you
