[Verse 1]
There's a place beyond the clouds
Where I watch you every day
I see you reaching for the phone
And I wish that I could stay
I hear you whisper in the dark
When the world has closed its eyes

[Chorus]
Oh sweetheart, I'm not far away
I'm the warmth you feel on a cold December day
Every tear you cry I'm catching from above
You were always enough, you were always my love

[Verse 2]
Christmas lights don't shine the same
I know the magic feels undone
But I'm there in every carol
In the glow of every one
Jackie, when the table's set
And my chair sits still and bare
Close your eyes and feel me close
I promise you I'm there

[Chorus]
Oh sweetheart, I'm not far away
I'm the warmth you feel on a cold December day
Every tear you cry I'm catching from above
You were always enough, you were always my love

[Bridge]
I see you trying, I see you fighting
Through the heavy and the grey
If I could hold you one more moment
I would chase it all away

[Verse 3]
Jackie, you don't have to wonder
If I'm proud of who you are
Every stumble, every struggle
You're my bright and shining star
I didn't leave you, I just changed
From a hand into a breeze
And when you need to hear my voice
Just listen to the trees

[Chorus]
Oh sweetheart, I'm not far away
I'm the warmth you feel on a cold December day
Every tear you cry I'm catching from above
You were always enough, you were always my love

[Outro]
So carry on, my Jackie girl
I'll meet you in your dreams
Nothing's ever really gone
It's closer than it seems
