Our First Date

Mike was very shy but got the nerve up to ask me out. He had never dated before. Instead, he'd spent his time working on cars. His shyness drew me to him. I could tell he was such a nice guy. But, I admit, I said "yes" to his asking me out because my father dared me to. Father's do know best!
We Wanted Children
Sadness, then joy!
Three babies were born just a little too soon. One of them, Jennifer Beth, lived only 3 days. Our hearts were broken but we had each other and our faith. We know they will be resurrected! Then, we had the greatest joy! We were blessed to be able to adopt two newborn babies, first Michael, then four years later our beautiful daughter, Kelly.
Spring Of 1971.
He popped the question.
Mike and I went to the movies but I noticed he was acting nervous. That made me nervous, thinking that something might be wrong. After the movie, we went to his Boss 302 and climbed inside. Mike didn't start the car though. Instead he said "Are you going to marry me or not?" I burst out laughing and Mike got a hurt look on his face. I told him I was worried that something was wrong, but "Yes!" I gladly marry him! We married in December!
Our Continued Story, 55 Years Later
Still in love
Despite health issues, we've had a very good life and a very happy marriage. I cannot picture myself with anyone but Mike. One year, for his anniversary gift, I arranged for him to drive a Nascar car. He still says "best present ever!"
FAMILY!
Our family has grown
Michael is married to Trisha and we have wonderful grandchildren that we are proud of. Kelly, our very beautiful daughter lives close to us and is always willing to help us when we need her help. Lastly, we have 3 dogs who keep us very busy! We have 2 rescues, Susie Q and Wally, and an English Bulldog named Hank the Tank! Our lives are full!
Mike's Personality
What Mike is really like
Mike is one of the wittiest people I've ever known. He makes me laugh about something every single day. Partly because of that, we have always got along. Our friends love the things Mike says. An example was when it was really windy out and a big pile of boxes blew off the porch and one by one were being blown across our yard! After watching several blow by us and into the woods below our house, Mike said "I wonder where they are all going!" He is just clever!
The Future
Together forever !
We believe there is a promised new world coming and Jehovah will resurrect our three babies, as well as our parents and the rest of our families that have died. If we live long enough, we can be together forever! I hope that happens!
