Cari

[Verse 1]
Some friendships start in sunshine,
Some start in pouring rain,
Ours began in a high school bathroom
With tears we couldn't explain.
You've been a part of my whole life since,
My sister in all but name.

[Chorus]
Happy birthday, Cari girl,
Strong and steady in a shaking world,
Your faith shines like a porch light on,
Leading weary hearts back home.
Hope and healing in your hands,
And a peace only Heaven understands.

[Verse 2]
You've raised so many children,
Loved babies not your own,
You cook and pray and carry them
Till every one is grown.
Even when you're tired and aching,
You still put everyone first.

[Chorus]
Happy birthday, Cari girl,
Strong and steady in a shaking world,
Your faith shines like a porch light on,
Leading weary hearts back home.
Hope and healing in your hands,
And a peace only Heaven understands.

[Bridge]
I know this time is heavy,
Your angel's birthday comes the day before,
But she's safe in the arms of Jesus,
And love like yours goes on forevermore.

[Verse 3]
When winter calls your hunter
Out to the woods so cold and still,
You keep the fire burning
Like you always have and always will.
And I thank the Lord that you were born,
You changed more lives than you'll ever know.

[Chorus]
Happy birthday, Cari girl,
Strong and steady in a shaking world,
Your faith shines like a porch light on,
Leading weary hearts back home.
Hope and healing in your hands,
And a peace only Heaven understands.

[Outro]
So blow out every candle,
Let His light come shining through,
Happy birthday, my sweet sister,
This world is better 'cause of you.
