BobbiJean Morris

[Verse 1]
There's a porch light burning on a gravel road,
A kitchen full of noise and a heavy load.
Twenty years I've watched you hold the line,
You're the strongest soul I've met in all my time.

[Chorus]
Anchor, life, breath, thankful,
Every word I've got to say.
You're the anchor in my storm, girl,
Keep me from running astray.
Oh Bobbi Jean, I won't forget,
You're the strongest person I have ever met.

[Verse 2]
They gave you six months, said to say goodbye,
You looked that doctor square in the eye.
Three long years of fighting for a place on the list,
Every breath a battle, every day a gift.
And I fell apart, I'll own it now,
Reached for the bottle and let it drag me down.

[Chorus]
Anchor, life, breath, thankful,
Every word I've got to say.
You're the anchor in my storm, girl,
Keep me from running astray.
Oh Bobbi Jean, I won't forget,
You're the strongest person I have ever met.

[Bridge]
But you stayed when staying hurt the most,
Raised four children while I chased a ghost.
I got sober for you and them,
Your forgiveness made me whole again.

[Verse 3]
Now the phone could ring most any day,
Two new lungs to carry you on your way.
And I'm still learning all that we've been through,
Twenty years, and I'm still finding you.
Bobbi Jean, here's to our brand new start,
Your breath in your chest and my hand on your heart.

[Chorus]
Anchor, life, breath, thankful,
Every word I've got to say.
You're the anchor in my storm, girl,
And I'm never gonna stray.
Oh Bobbi Jean, I won't forget,
You're the strongest person I have ever met.

[Outro]
Anchor, life, breath, thankful,
I'll be thankful, girl, for you.
