Ashley

[Verse 1]
There's a porch light on past midnight
And a cup of coffee cold
There's a chair beside a small bed
And a little hand to hold
Ashley, you were gentle from the start
Never wanted to break a single heart

[Chorus]
You think you're falling short, girl
But heaven sees what's true
God looked down on Emma and Elle
And He picked a mama like you
You've never failed a single soul
You were chosen, through and through

[Verse 2]
You searched for every healer
Every teacher, every door
So Elle could have a tomorrow
Filled with joy and so much more
Now she calls for you beside her
And you're always standing near

[Chorus]
You think you're falling short, girl
But heaven sees what's true
God looked down on Emma and Elle
And He picked a mama like you
You've never failed a single soul
You were chosen, through and through

[Bridge]
The way you love those babies
Is how the Father loves His own
With patience, faith and mercy
And a strength you've always known
He walks beside you, daughter
You will never walk alone

[Verse 3]
Emma's laughter fills the hallway
Peter holds you when you're worn
And the hope you plant in both girls
Grows brighter every morn
Ashley, when the doubts come creeping
Let this song remind you who you are

[Chorus]
So when you think you're falling short, girl
Know that heaven sees what's true
God looked down on Emma and Elle
And He picked a mama like you
You've never failed a single soul
You were chosen, through and through

[Outro]
You've never failed a soul, my Ashley
You were chosen, through and through
God was thinking of those two girls
When He made a heart like you
