Jim

[Verse 1]
Some love stories start with thunder,
Ours started soft and small,
Folding chairs at a school play,
Paper stars along the wall.
Then a lake on our second date,
Where the evening turned to gold.

[Chorus]
He says I’m thankful for you and I count my blessings twice on Sunday,
He takes my hand like that first night,
And I still don't want it to end,
Thirty-four years, still holding tight,
My husband, my Honey, my best friend.

[Verse 2]
You still tease I was scared of you,
Truth is I was falling fast,
Watching ducks come gliding in
As the sun sank on the glass.
Then at Lynn's Overlook you knelt,
And Jim, I knew that love would last.

[Chorus]
He says I’m thankful for you and I count my blessings twice on Sunday,
He takes my hand like that first night,
And I still don't want it to end,
Thirty-four years, still holding tight,
My husband, my Honey, my best friend.

[Bridge]
You say line up a hundred women,
Blindfold you and you'd still know,
Just one touch and you'd find my hand,
Honey, I'll never let that go.

[Verse 3]
We've weathered storms that shook us hard,
But we always made it through,
When life has knocked you to the ground,
You get back up, like you always do.
Larger than life, the most loyal heart,
A husband, father, friend so true.

[Chorus]
He says I’m thankful for you and I count my blessings twice on Sunday,
He takes my hand like that first night,
And I still don't want it to end,
Thirty-four years, still holding tight,
My husband, my Honey, my best friend.

[Outro]
I'll run my fingers through your hair
On Cayman blue as the sun sinks low,
Jim, in every life, it's you I'd choose,
The only way my heart would go.
